THE PORTAL OF ‘UP’ OR OF THE CEMETERY
On the same wall we find the ladder to climb to the pulpit. This pulpit has a painting of Saint Vincent Ferrer, in an attitude of preaching, under the sounding board. We know that Saint Vincent Ferrer preached three sermons on this high chair on October 6, 1413. If we look closely, at the bottom of the high chair it says "built before 1419". This information was derived from the fact that Saint Vincent Ferrer died on April 5, 1419 and it was certain that the Saint had preached in that throne, but at that time the exact date of his visit to Soller. It also says "moved in 1711". On that date, the high chair, which was previously in the smaller Gothic church, was moved to the current site of the Baroque works. Finally we read "restored in 1873". This is the moment when, after making an important restoration, the entire legend was written.
On the left wall of the Portal ‘de arriba’ space we can see a large picture with the painting of Saint Christopher carrying the Child on his back and using a palm leaf as a cane.
The portal that leads to the old cemetery is from 1782 and was made by Jacint Colom, Bartomeu Coll and the latter's son, Pere Antoni Coll.
