CHAPEL OF THE VIRGIN OF SORROWS
The altarpiece is dominated by a polychrome carving of the Virgin of Sorrows, the work of the Murcian sculptor Venancio Marco Roig (Yecla, 1871 - Valencia, 1941). The altarpiece is the work of Miquel Amer and, in the second body, we can see a relief of the Child Jesus. Crowning the altarpiece we can see two little angels and a vase with flames. At the ends of this second body are two angels carrying the symbols of the Passion of Christ. Just below the image of the Virgin of Sorrows, inside a niche, we find the alabaster carving, from the 14th century, of the Virgin of the Rose or Rosary. On the right wall of the altarpiece we find the painting of the apparition of the Virgin of Lourdes, the work of the painter Salvador Torres Cáffaro with a frame by Miguel Amer. Above this painting is another, smaller one, relating to the Visitation of the Virgin. On the left wall, and by the painter Torres himself, we can see the meeting of the Virgin of Lluc.
